A simple attempt at a side-scrolling shooter. There’s actually quiet a bit going on here. The main inspiration was twin-stick controls like Resogun with a looping Defender style playfield.
The ship faces the direction of fire not the direction of travel and I’ve implemented an inertia system so pushing the movement stick doesn’t immediately change direction. Instead you slow down before reverse movement begins.
You have three lives and a shield, represented by five bars in the bottom right, to deplete before each life is lost.
