Arkanoid updated the ancient game of Breakout for the 80’s and following Arcade success it’s now time for home computer adaptations, of which Krakout is one.

Krakout follows Arkanoid’s lead by having more varied brick layouts for each level and introducing power-ups for the bat and ball to change up game play.

Some bricks will take multiple hits before they go, some are designed to remain.  There are power-ups to increase the bat size, add more balls to the screen, and even grab the ball instead of deflecting.

The major difference between this game and Arkanoid/Breakout is orientation.  The game is played horizontally with the bat either at the left or right of the screen (menu choice), rather than vertically with the bat at the bottom of the screen.
